Not only are the seven-year-old's beloved Gold Coast Suns propping up the AFL ladder, but he is likely to be grossly outnumbered by Hawthorn fans at Aurora Stadium.
The Suns said they would have a 30-strong cheer squad flying in from Queensland, while also boasting Launceston Football Club products Jesse Lonergan and Kade Kolodjashnij on their roster, but do not expect a surge in Tasmanian memberships in the next few days.
Toby has been a Suns fan for almost half his life, having watched the expansion side's first ever match at Metricon Stadium in 2011.
The young Auskicker said he was well aware of the task facing his Gary Ablett-less team, but still had a faint hope.
"They've got a chance - maybe a little one," he said.
The traditional Chilli Hawk Walk will leave City Park at noon on Saturday accompanied by the City of Launceston RSL band.
The game will also feature Hawthorn's first ever Indigenous guernsey as part of the celebration for the AFL's Indigenous round.
The guernsey, designed by Yorta Yorta/Wiradjuri painter Jirra Lulla Harvey last year, features the names of each indigenous player that has represented Hawthorn, dating back to the club's first indigenous player, Cyril Collard, who made his debut in 1957.
