A 44-year-old Brighton woman was arrested and charged by police following a spate of alleged thefts from Launceston businesses today.

Launceston uniform police, who were targeting anti-social behaviour in the CBD, apprehended the woman after they were alerted that she had allegedly been shoplifting from businesses in the Launceston Mall by retailers.
A vehicle being used by the woman was impounded by police.
They allegedly located a significant number of items, including clothing, baby items, believed to be allegedly stolen from a number of stores around Launceston and Hobart in her vehicle, valued at approximately $3000.
Police allege that illicit drugs were also found.
