Lack's was one of more than 15 age-category races decided over the newly completed Blue Derby mountain bike course.
Distances ranged from 10-70 kilometres.
Lack said that the win was good training for his trip to Andora, in September, where he will compete in the under-19 world mountain bike marathon championships.
``I went out hard on the initial few kilometre climb so I'd be ahead when we got to the single-track descent that follows _ I looked back a few times, but didn't see anyone,'' he said.
``I've ridden the Blue Derby a few times and I know the descent pretty well so I wanted to get a bit of a gap.
``It wouldn't be too daunting for someone who didn't know the track, but there are a few corners that can slow you down if you don't know how to take them and didn't want to be stuck behind someone on a single file section.
