Reserve closed to traffic
THE Mill Dam Reserve will be closed to vehicular traffic for the winter period, due to continued wet weather. The area will reopen in November. The reserve is, however, still open to the public. Access is through the walkway from the boat ramp in Union Street.

Highway plans available
DRAFT plans for the Perth to Breadalbane Midland Highway duplication are available for public viewing at Northern Midland Council chambers in Longford. They will be available until June.
Anzac radio open to all
The VK100ANZAC: Amateur Radio Talks to the World special event will be held in the Harry Murray Memorial Garden in Evandale on Sunday May 31. People will be able to see a "live" and working amateur radio station. The event is part of commemorations of the 100 years of Anzac. The event will also feature military vehicles, demonstrations, Falkland War radios, stealth antennas, and satellite communication. The event will start at 9am and finish at 3pm.
Poppy installation
A COMMUNITY poppy installation is available to be viewed at Clarendon House until May 31. The installation commemorates the 100th anniversary of World War I and Anzac, and is part of the National Trust's Heritage Festival.
Classical guitarist
CLASSICAL guitarist David Malone will perform at the Christ Church on Wellington Street, Longford on May 31. Malone is based in Hobart, but has performed in Spain, Finland, the United Kingdom, and throughout Australia. The concert will be held between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Tickets are available at the door, and are $15 for adults and $10 concession.
