The move to the new building at 113 Cimitiere Street will take place on May 24, bringing to a close 172 years of history at its current Paterson Street building.
The new office will open to the public on the Monday, May 25.
The five-storey building uses innovative design to heat, cool and light the office.
Editorial and advertising departments will share a level of the building, while classifieds will be located on the bottom floor.
It is not the first move for The Examiner, which began operating in Brisbane Street in 1842 with a hand press smuggled into Van Diemens Land disguised as brewery machinery.
In 1848, The Examiner moved from Brisbane Street to larger premises in Paterson Street.
However the site, which originally housed the printing press and hot metal production, no longer meets the needs of a modern media organisation.
The building in Paterson Street is currently for sale.
The Examiner's commitment to bringing news, current affairs and sports stories from throughout Northern Tasmania remains unchanged.
To celebrate the move The Examiner will release a special publication Moving with the times: OUR HISTORY, YOUR STORIES On Sunday 24 May.
There is also a free exhibition at Academy Gallery at the following times.
