The Northern Tasmanian hazelnut grower was just the day before named Rural Industry Research and Development Corporation Tasmanian Rural Woman of the Year.
Ms Bracken was one of 40 women from across Australia to be awarded a scholarship to undertake the Australian Institute of Company Directors governance education programs.
The institute's expanded program has three scholarship rounds on offer - for talented women in rural and remote Australia, for supporting women in male-dominated industries and for general scholarship.
Ms Bracken, who is also a West Tamar councillor and member of Tasmanian Women in Agriculture, will use the $10,000 she was awarded as the state's new Rural Woman of the Year, to visit the US state of Oregon which is a leading hazelnut producing state.
She hopes to learn about different business models to sell hazelnut products in a competitive environment.
Lyons Liberal MHR Eric Hutchinson congratulated Ms Bracken on her scholarship and said that she was one of a group of impressive Tasmanian rural women who were smart, passionate and entrepreneurial.
Ms Bracken should be very proud of her achievements, he said.
