FOUR readers of The Examiner will have the opportunity to take part in an unprecedented state campaign discussing the all-important issue of education.
For 72 hours from June 1-3, the Hothouse Session will demonstrate the power of creative thinking, to explore new constructive approaches to education in Tasmania.
Selected education stakeholders, organisations, public speakers and Tasmanian students will sit on panels in the first two sessions on June 1 and 2.
Sixteen members of the public, including the four Examiner readers, will take a seat in the Hothouse to discuss and debate education in this state.
To contribute your ideas about how the state can improve education and to get yourself a seat in the Hothouse head to The Examiner website and find the Hothouse competition to voice your thoughts.
The Dark Mofo 2015 crew has launched at the Hothouse, a collaboration with Tasmania’s three daily newspapers as well as political tri-partisan support, will present three sessions involving selected educators, thinkers, doers and achievers.
Coinciding with the 125th anniversary of the University of Tasmania, the key focus for the Hothouse is to raise discussion and ideas from across the state about how we can improve educational outcomes in Tasmania.
The Hothouse aims to demonstrate the benefits of collaboration around this complex issue, to engage with the community at all levels and contribute to a community debate on the issues that impact on educational attainment and retention in Tasmania.
