Both teams will be keen for a win with a $1000 cheque as extra incentive.
The player judged best on ground will receive the inaugural Wadley-Moir Medal named in honour of associates from both clubs who have connections with the armed forces.
The Wadley family, of Deloraine, has three brothers in Jonathan, Benjamin and Douglas who all played for the club before joining the Australian army and who have gone on to serve in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Laurie Moir is a former veteran who played 118 games with City-South which included five premierships from 1951 to 1959.
During that time Moir represented the NTFA 29 times in representative games and played for Tasmania in 1954.
He was invited to train with Footscray in 1953-54 and went on to coach and play with East Launceston in 1960-61.
An Anzac Day ceremony will be held before the senior game to pay respect to all service men and women and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
The Bulldogs will also unveil their 2014 premiership flag at their first home match of the season.
The reserves will play at 1pm, followed by the under 19s at 3 and the seniors at 5pm.
Bar and canteen facilities will be available.
