Dairy Business of the Year winners for 2015, Bill and Jill Chilvers converted their Symmons Plains property, Oakdene, to dairy four years ago and share-farm on a 50:50 basis with Grant and Kim Archer, who were the Fonterra Share Dairy Farmers of the Year.
In 2013-14 the partners milked 990 cows, achieving a return on assets managed of 20.6 per cent and earnings before interest and tax of $5738 per effective hectare.
The partners will at the field day share details of the business and what they consider important in achieving a highly profitable business.
RSVPs should reach Lesley Irvine by Tuesday, April 28, by email at Lesley.Irvine@utas.edu.au or phone or text to 0428 880 287.
The field day will be held on April 30, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and will be followed by a free barbecue lunch.
Oakdene, is at 15126 Midland Highway, Symmons Plains.
