Inspector Michael Johnston said there was no reason for Launceston residents to be alarmed after five men were arrested in Melbourne for conspiring to plan a terrorist attack on Anzac Day.
"It's a case of being alert and acknowledging that we live in a different environment than we did a few years ago and being prepared for that without being alarmist," Inspector Johnston said.
"There will be a reasonable police presence at the dawn service and at the 11 o'clock ceremony (in Launceston). This will include traffic control at the parade itself.
"We would like to see as many people there enjoying it and participating in the event as possible without causing any undue distress or concern."
Parliamentary secretary to the Premier Guy Barnett said there was no change to the threat level to Tasmania for Anzac Day.
"In light of the events interstate, I'm advised Tasmania Police will review security arrangements for Anzac ceremonies and parades," Mr Barnett said.
