Wednesday was the 10th anniversary of Helen's death from breast cancer and her daughter, Jeanette Proctor, has organised the event.
Miss Proctor, who now lives in Brisbane and works as a yoga teacher, said she wanted to do something to recognise her mum and her work in the local basketball community, as well as that done by the Holman Clinic in providing care for those with cancer.
She believes her mum's love for the game of basketball stemmed from her own years as a player and Miss Proctor once also played for the Devils and Launceston Tornadoes.
Miss Proctor hopes that this will be the first of many years to come for the event.
"I want to continue doing it and make it an annual event and possibly turn it into Launceston's biggest yoga class," Miss Proctor said.
Participants taking part will be eligible for 20 per cent off FitUp apparel and a KFM Fitness membership.
Participants should be at least 16.
