West Tamar Mayor Christina Holmdahl attended the event along with Launceston MLC Rosemary Armitage.
Past and present members from Inner Wheel clubs from throughout the state were also invited.
Club member Jan Easther said the luncheon celebrated the branch's past, present and future.
"We celebrated 40 years of achieving the objectives of the Inner Wheel," Mrs Easther said.
"[Those objectives are to] promote friendship, foster international understanding and personal service.
"We've done a huge number of local, international and national projects over 40 years - it's difficult to estimate how much we've raised over 40 years."
Mrs Easther said attendees reminisced about the branch's history.
She said the first function charged just 30¢ admission.
It was not just a change in finances that was noted by past and present members.
"The club changed as the role of women has changed," Mrs Easther said.
"It's mostly older women [now] who are retired because the younger women are all at work.
"When I joined 40 years ago I was home with my children and I took them along to the meeting.
"The club itself has changed in the membership."
Mrs Easther encouraged women of all ages and backgrounds to get involved with Inner Wheel.
Inner Wheel is the female-only branch of Rotary.
