Cr Barwick has written that the motion was created to be "more inclusive, more representative" and that the idea has been considered in the past.

She suggested East Tamar Council as a possible new moniker.

General manager John Martin has written that the council would need to consider advice and the relevant Local Government Act requirements in relation to the motion.

He recommended the topic be discussed at a council workshop.

Also on the agenda for tomorrow's meeting is a combined application for an amendment to a local provision of the George Town interim planning scheme and 35-lot subdivision at Tam O'Shanter Road, Lulworth.

The application refers to a permit granted for a 27-lot subdivision in 2011.

The permit owner applied for an additional nine lots in 2013 but ran into issues with conditions set by the Tasmania Fire Service, the planning scheme and TasWater.

"At this time, the land owner requested a meeting with (council officers) to discuss a number of engineering related conditions that had been placed on the 2011 permit which were considered by the land owner to be overtly onerous," the agenda said.

"At the conclusion of this meeting there were a number of issues that had been agreed upon by all parties that could not be remedied via a minor amendment to the existing permit. It was therefore decided that the only way forward was for the applicant to withdraw the nine-lot subdivision application and to resubmit the whole subdivision plan, including the area that had already been previously approved."

It is recommended that the council initiate an amendment to the interim planning scheme.

The council will discuss funding for Tamar NRM and consider providing space for the environmental organisation to set up an outreach service.

The funding would cost $13,059 per year over three years.

The council will also make a decision as to whether Mayor Bridget Archers can formally meet with the Launceston City Council to discuss resource and service sharing opportunities.
