Riverside High maintained its dominance at Launceston Aquatic, winning the junior, senior and aggregate shields with grade 8 student Will Bonney breaking records in the 50m butterfly and breaststroke.
The Launceston Christian School’s Tom Sladden broke the grade 7 boys’ 50m fly and freestyle records while Queechy’s Fraser Sutton set new benchmarks in the boys’ grade 9 50m and open 100m breaststroke events.
Executive officer Andrew McCarthy reported a ‘‘very successful day and a relaxed atmosphere’’.
‘‘Queechy and the Christian School put up a good fight but Riverside had a lot of depth in the relays which is why they won,’’ McCarthy said.
McCarthy is looking for football, netball and soccer umpires for the Wednesday afternoon sport competitions which start in May and said remuneration was provided. Anybody interested can call 0419547471.
Results: Riverside 876 points, Launceston Christian School 754, Queechy 745, Scottsdale 679, Kings Meadows 575, St Helens 374.
