Once the helmet goes on the Mount Direction 13-year-old’s head, she transforms from a quietly-spoken young woman to a determined competitor out to show the boys how it’s done.
Holli, who races with the Launceston Junior Motorcycle Club, will compete for the state title in the 85cc class of the Tasmanian Motocross Championship next month.
She said she was often the only girl on the track.
‘‘I guess I just really want to go out there and beat them and show them how good I am,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s my passion, it’s something I love.’’
Father Rick could not be more proud.
‘‘She wants to be the best you can be - she always says that if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.
‘‘They can’t push her around because she’s a girl.’’
