The Hothouse will consist of four components; The Hothouse structure, a 72-hour ideas session, ideas forum, and ideas exhibition.
Dark Mofo creative director Leigh Carmichael said The Hothouse structure would be built on Parliament Lawns in Hobart during May.
"Dark Mofo is presenting the Hothouse with our project partners as a way to highlight how creative thinking can generate 'outside-the-box' ideas to difficult and complex topics," he said.
"The Hothouse presents a visible space for this kind of activity, with a focus on community engagement and tangible outcomes."
The project has evolved from last year's Dark Mofo project Future Hobart 2014, and will this year be extended to focus on all Tasmanians.
The project will be a collaboration from Dark Mofo, Clemenger Tasmania-OMD, the City of Hobart, University of Tasmania and News Corp.
The Cave Urban Design Collective requires bamboo to use in The Hothouse structure. They will pick up from around the state. Email info@caveurban.com.
