POLICE were called to a nine-vehicle accident on the south-bound lane of the Brooker Highway, at Berriedale this morning.

As a result of the crash, a 60-year-old Claremont man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Damage to vehicles ranged from minor to major with three vehicles towed from the scene.
Police said A number of factors contributed to this crash including wet weather, slippery road conditions and drivers following other vehicles too closely.
This is the second multi-vehicle crash on the Brooker Highway in the past two days that has caused major traffic delays for motorists.
Tasmania Police would like to remind motorists to take extra care with the wet road conditions and to drive to the conditions, be aware the roads will be slippery and leave appropriate space between you and the vehicle ahead.
Police have also asked motorists to avoid the Bridgewater Bridge.
The Bridge is fixed in the open position and work is underway to rectify the issue.
Police are directing traffic and ask motorists to use the Bowen Bridge or bridge at New Norfolk until advised.
