"It has all the songs that we have created together, and is a celebration of us coming together to make music," guitarist Mick Attard told X-static .
"The date of the show, April 2, will actually be the third-year anniversary for us in terms of playing live shows, so that works nicely."
Attard said The Embers, which also feature Katy Humphries, Jai Larkman, Kilty Salter and Miles Bender in their line-up, had evolved over the years.
"At the beginning, it was much more groove, folk-based, and what we had coming out at the end was more reggae and dance."
Attard said it was an "unreal" feeling to actually have the album in their hands, which came about after a crowdfunding campaign.
The group will have a "pre-release" launch in their home city on Thursday, April 2, before a national launch tour on the mainland in later April and May.
Attard said that tour would be a "dream come true" and a "new challenge" for the band.
"But we wanted to do this show for our home town first," Attard said.
"People who have been following us and supporting us for years will get the first opportunity to get their hands on the album.
"It will definitely be a party, but also a bit nostalgic.
"Just because how much work goes into it, there will also be some feeling of relief for us as well."
Copies of the album will be available for sale on the night.
Performing as part of the night will also be Nick Hill and Isla Ka.
