Mr Barnett took first pram honours in last year’s Balfour Burn, crossing the line in just over five minutes while pushing twins Lucy and Annie up the hill and carrying daughter Emma.
All three girls have grown significantly in the past year, so on March 15 Mr Barnett will instead carry only four-year-old Emma, and said he hoped family dog Piccolo might help pull him up the hill this time.
Mr Barnett said his family felt it was important to support St Giles, due to their own experiences with the organisation.
‘‘We’ve been very fortunate to be associated with St Giles for the last nearly four years,’’ he said.
‘‘Emma, our four-year-old, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age, and they have been a great support for us.’’
Mr Barnett said the range of services available through St Giles had been extremely important to his family over the past four years.
‘‘To be able to give a little bit back is great, in any way we can,’’ he said.
All funds raised at the Balfour Burn will go to St Giles Therapy Services, Launceston.
