Joshua Cleary, 24, Nicholas Heames, 22 and Jeremiah Lowe, 13, were all part of the Tasmania's team which had its best finish at the championships, defeating several teams the state had never beaten before and claiming the bronze medal.
"It was phenomenal to win the bronze after all the hard work and being part of the Tassie team for the past seven years," Cleary said.
"It was the first medal ever for the team."
Cleary, a centre-forward, has also been a member of the Australian Boomerangs national team for those with an intellectual disability for the past four years and is hopeful of making the team again this year.
"I have to make the team through try-outs and if I get selected after an Easter camp I will be going to the world championships again."
A grade 7 Kings Meadows High student, Lowe was the youngest player to take part at the Ivor Burge championships.
Tasmanian Ivor Burge coach Odette Seabourne said Lowe had limited court time in his first trip away but would benefit from the experience in future years in his development as a guard.
It was also Heames first experience at the Ivor Burge tournament.
"It was the first time the Tasmanian men's team has won a medal and I've been involved for over 14 years," Seabourne said.
"It was quite an honour and very exciting especially for the boys who have been there since the inception when Tasmania started going."
