LONGFORD celebrated another year filled with bountiful produce yesterday with the annual Blessing of the Harvest.
The Rotary Club of Longford event drew hundreds of people to the historic town to enjoy a variety of harvest-related activities.
The day kicked off with a parade through Longford's main street featuring vintage cars, fire trucks and children of all ages dressed to impress.
Bands, a sheaf-throwing contest, free children's activities and market stalls entertained the crowd on the Village Green.
Rotary Club of Longford president Corey Hogarth said he was pleased with the event.
Months of planning went into the day-long celebration.
"We celebrate the produce that we've got off the land this year," Mr Hogarth said.
"We've gone from traditional produce and now we've got berries, lamb, beef, salmon . . . that's why we have the Red Feather Inn over there, to show what we have.
"We've been really well-supported by local businesses - as sponsors, they allow us to do all this."
