Emergency services have rescued two Northern men in their 30s after they were forced to abandon their boat when it ran aground.

The men, a 39-year-old from Launceston and a 36-year-old from Cressy, were rescued about 10.30am on Friday from the east coast of Cape Barron Island.
Their boat had run aground overnight, and was separated from two other vessels that also ran into trouble after dragging and breaking anchors.
The men were winched to safety by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and taken to St Helens.
They were found safe and well.
The police boat Relentless was launched from Lady Barron on Flinders Island, and a rescue aircraft was also deployed from Essendon to help find the men.
Rescue services were alerted to their situation when a an EPIRB was activated about 8am on Friday off the coast of Cape Barren Island.
It is the fourth marine rescue incident in off Tasmania's East Coast this week, with a boat running aground at Bridport early on Friday morning, one rescue from Franklin Sound off Flinders Island, and another rescue off Cape Portland when a boat ran into rocks.
