Perfect is the Enemy of God
There used to be a lot of bitching about the quality/inanity of children's music for anyone aged over four (though the Wiggles were cleverer than given credit for), but with the likes of Holly Throsby, Justine Clarke and Rhys Muldoon in the mix now, the fun quotient has risen for the adults listening/enduring.
Muldoon's second album with Spiderbait's Kram works on the same principle as his hugely enjoyable I'm Not Singing: songs in multiple and unlikely genres that only happen to sound like children's songs in the lyrics, and even then they're witty and "adult" in their own way.
So Gimme the iPad brings punked up hard rock to a whining schoolkid's demands and Angry Mum matches that with some tense, almost No Wave, withheld aggression for its parental warning.
