Organiser Kylie Smith said she was thrilled with how the day turned out.
‘‘It’s all about getting the families out, having a cheap day out,’’ Ms Smith said.
‘‘You can have a glass of wine, relax, listen to some music and it’s not going to cost you a fortune.
‘‘We’ve gone from having just two girls walking around [in our first year] to this competition. It’s been amazing, and I think it’s been a huge crowd pleaser.’’
About 300 cars were on show at the event, which was held in the grounds of Josef Chromy Vineyard at Relbia.
Ms Smith said the event had raised about $2500 for HeartKids, a charity that helps families of children affected by heart problems.
‘‘I was hoping to get around $5000. It’s a little bit down but considering the times and financial situation and kids going back to school, it’s perfect,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s not about raising the most money, it’s about raising awareness of HeartKids.’’
Brittany Chapman, or ‘‘Miss Britt’’, said she was ‘‘very excited’’ to be crowned the first ever Queen of Hearts.
‘‘I think this kind of style emphasises the beauty of a woman. It’s very pretty, it’s very fun, it’s exciting, you get to show off your personality in more ways than one,’’ she said.
