Wales, who sit eighth in International Netball Federation's rankings, and Scotland, who are 12th, will call the state home from July 26 to August 4, before the tournament begins in Sydney on August 7.

Both countries competed in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year [winning three matches between them] and then secured their spots in the World Cup through the European Regional Qualifying Series, beating out Ireland and Northern Ireland for the two available spots. 

The pre-tournament program will see Wales and Scotland play matches against Netball Australia’s Centre of Excellence and the Tassie Spirit, with these games to be played at the Silverdome, the Derwent Entertainment Centre and the Aurora Sports Stadium in Hobart.

Wales will play the Centre of Excellence in Launceston in early August, with the exact date yet to be confirmed, and there are chances other matches could take place at the Silverdome.

The two countries will also play an international exhibition clash at the Derwent Entertainment Centre on August 1.

There will also be community and public events held around the teams' visit.

The Netball World Cup will be held from August 7-16, the third time Australia has hosted the tournament.

The host nation will be favourites to win their 11th world crown at the 16 nation tournament, with the Diamonds currently on a 19-game winning streak, which included Commonwealth gold.
