On Thursday afternoon, the men left Woolnorth Point to check cray pots on the the western side of Trefoil Island, but did not return home.
Police were notified on Thursday night and decided to call on assistance from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a AUSSAR aeroplane, who located the trio at 12.15am this morning.
Due to strong winds last night and a large number of mutton birds, the men were unable to be rescued overnight, however all three were winched to safety at first light this morning.
