Police allege that Robyn Clare Pearce, of Sandford on the South Arm Peninsula, connected with a 64-year-old man from New South Wales via an internet dating site.
Over a three-year period, police say Miss Pearce received more than $247,000 from the man, obtained on the basis that she would repay him.
She was charged with 122 counts of dishonestly acquiring a financial advantage, and appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Remanded in custody, she will reappear via video link on February 19.
