THE fourth annual Greens Beach Family Fun Day was a huge success yesterday, with organiser Greg Amos reporting that the Lions Club had run out of sausages.
Mr Amos said plenty of people had attended the event, despite the cooler weather yesterday morning.
"The beach was just packed from one end to the other end, it's a bit hard to tell but I reckon well over 1000 people," he said.
"There were people from Burnie down on the beach, there were people from Sheffield, Railton, that I spoke to, they were not just from our area, they were from all over."
Mr Amos said the West Tamar Lions Club had organised a range of activities, including tug-of-war, tunnel ball, a treasure hunt and a sand sculpting competition.
"It was lovely. We had a great time on the beach, the kids had a fantastic time," he said.
"We had all the normal kids games and giveaways for them and they really, really enjoyed themselves.
"We've had people come up and say thank you for putting it on."
