Many of the items on display, co-ordinated by the Campbell Town Anzac Centenary Group, have been donated by people from the town and its surrounds.
Group researcher Bill Chugg said he was expecting the exhibition to draw a host of visitors to the town.
"We've got quite a lot of items of interest from back in World War I and the other wars as well," Mr Chugg said.
"Things like letters, a bag from back in World War I, photos of local people.
He said the exhibition would be opened at 11am on Friday by Vietnam veteran Neville Payne.
"At age 18 he volunteered to join the army and in May, 1969, he arrived in Vietnam where he spent 12 months," Mr Chugg said.
"His father served in New Guinea during World War II and his grandfather was a World War I veteran who was on the scene when the German fighter pilot the Red Baron was shot down in France."
He said Mr Payne loaned not only his own medals for display, but those of his father and grandfather.
