The council has called on residents to chalk up their opinions on Bass Highway signage, which aims to draw visitors to its signature giant wickets.
Meander Valley community development officer Patrick Gambles said a survey had been conceived on possible alterations to signage in an attempt to better advertise the town.
"The signs went up about two years ago and I think, from local businesses, people are not confident they're doing the trick," Mr Gambles said.
"Council has decided to survey business owners, visitors and community members to see what the general feeling is — whether those signs reflect Westbury and were attracting visitors off the Bass Highway."
He said the survey was available online and that people could also visit the Westbury Council chambers to gain hard copies.
"We're looking to move on it quite quickly, it's a process that's really been going on a long time," Mr Gambles said.
"Signage and tourism for local economies is quite a complex thing to address"
He said the survey would close on January 28 and a report would help form a proposal for the next step.
"We're really trying to encourage residents, business operators and visitors to have their say, not just the people who live in Westbury," Mr Gambles said.
