It was the second time the centre had hosted a carols event, which is set to become an annual tradition, according to co-ordinator Robyn McKinnon.
"It certainly felt bigger this year - probably what we notice the most was the increase in younger families there, which was nice," Mrs McKinnon said.
"We used social media to advertise the event this year ... you can get greater reach in the community using things like Facebook."
She said free pony rides, a balloon man, craft activities and more were part of the festivities.
"It was quite nice for families to let their kids loose with activities and know they could be fed," Mrs McKinnon said.
"We noticed a lot of parents were just able to talk to each other knowing their kids were safe in an enclosed area.
"Parents are so busy throughout the year, there's not a lot of time to connect with each other." This year's success would mean a return event for 2015, she said.
"At the very end one mum came up to us saying that she'd really like to see it happen again and gave us a donation for next year," Mrs McKinnon said.
"It's a good opportunity for the community to get together, and we don't do enough of that throughout the year. It's a good reason to catch up."
