Police say a ''large quantity'' of cigarettes and tobacco products were stolen from Joe's Supermarket and Takeaway just before midnight on Sunday.
Two men entered the West Tamar Highway business, police allege, triggering the business's alarm.
Launceston CIB detectives have asked anyone who has been offered or knows of cheap or large amounts of cigarettes for sale, or who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time.
