Brooke Brown continued her touchdown-scoring form with four scores and now leads the competition scoring with 18.
The Aztecs look to be a real threat to last season’s premiers Grasscutters, who also had a win over Hazards 5-4.
Women’s division 2 is proving to be quite an even competition at this point, with Fresh Aztecs and Bakers Lane Hazards battling out a 4-4 draw. Grasscutters narrowly defeated the improving junior Grasscutters 6-3.
In men’s division 1, the top-of-the-ladder Socceroos Sharks just pipped Star Bar Hazards, winning 4-3, with Jacob Knight and Chris Nason continuing their good form.
TRC Grasscutters recorded a 10-4 win over Titans, with Jay Blackberry and Andrew Swain scoring well for the Grasscutters and Josh Bessell looking in form for the Titans upon return from injury.
In the men’s division 2 competition, the Socceroos Sharks suffered their first defeat of the season with a 4-1 loss to the Grasscutters, who were led by Geoff Stock.
They are now joined at the top of the table by the CM George Town Giants, who recorded a solid 7-3 victory over the Supercats.
The Whale Sharks narrowly beat the Beers Crew 5-4, while four touchdowns by Paul Johnston were not enough to get a win for the GJ Fencing Hazards, who lost to the Mako Sharks 6-5.
The completion will now move into the summer break, resuming on Sunday, January 11.
