Federation national director David Jackson, of Launceston, said the event would run from December 27 to 31.
‘‘It’s hosted by a different club each time, and this year was our turn,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re expecting 80 to 85 cars from the mainland and 30-odd from Tasmania.
‘‘There’d probably be 100 or so sitting in people’s garages around the state.
‘‘The 27th, Saturday, is registration and scrutineering day at Archer’s Manor for the various categories and a welcome barbecue that night.
‘‘Sunday is the show and shine day at Royal Park, from 9am until about 3.30, and entry is by gold coin donation.
‘‘All money raised by the entrance fee to the show and shine, and an auction we hold at our dinner, will be divided between the Prostate Awareness Foundation, Royal Flying Doctor Service and Devils @ Cradle.’’
Mr Jackson said that Monday would provide a great opportunity for people to see the cars out and about on their observation run.
‘‘We’ll go down the West Tamar to Beauty Point, across to George Town and back into Launceston,’’ he said.
‘‘On Tuesday we’ll all go to Bridport, where there’ll be a street parade between 10.30 and 11am before we assemble on the village green for a few novelty events.’’
Mr Jackson said that a formal dinner on the Tuesday night would see presentation of trophies before a farewell breakfast on Wednesday.
