The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting sunshine for the central North and North-West on December 25, while the rest of the state battles rain and wind.
Launceston’s temperature will be below average, however, due to another cold front that is expected to sweep the state on Christmas Eve.
Despite chilly conditions, residents can expect to enjoy a top of 21 degrees, with the minimum temperature expected to be 11 degrees.
Weather won’t make the slightest difference to Newnham resident Matt Pike, who is looking forward to spending time with family and friends in rain, hail or shine.
‘‘I don’t really mind what the weather is like on Christmas – it’s not really about that,’’ he said.
‘‘I’m more interested in spending time with family and friends, eating lots of food and having a few drinks.’’
