The Nigerian ship was caught poaching endangered icefish between Heard Island, south-west of Australia and Antarctica.
Thunder has allegedly been tied up in illegal fishing missions for more than 10 years and is currently purple flag-listed by Interpol.
Bob Barker captain Peter Hammarstedt has immediately ordered the Thunder to Fremantle, Australia, to report to Australian law enforcement authorities.
The Bob Barker will escort Thunder into Australian waters.
