The Westbury-aligned Crusaders will start favourites having defeated the Oak Royals and Star Bar Slashers in their preliminary rounds.
The Riverside-aligned All-Stars qualified for the final with a win over Sporties Legends and a superior run rate after last week’s game against TRC Titans was washed out.
The Crusaders will be without two of their big-name recruits in Ben Beams and Brett Geeves but captain Dane Anderson remained confident about their chances.
‘‘We’ve been going pretty well and haven’t lost a game, winning five in a row since the competition started so we’ll take some confidence in,’’ Crusaders captain Dane Anderson said.
‘‘We’ve lost a couple in the last few days which will test our depth a little bit but we will have a pretty good team on the park and hopefully one that will get the job done.’’
Michael Lukic returns to the line-up along with Nick Spencer and Andrew Downton with Brent Mullet to keep wickets.
‘‘The All-Stars have recruited well and have some quality players but we’ll worry about securing our own skills and playing our own games rather than worrying about who we’re playing against,’’ Anderson said.
‘‘You have to be adaptable with this format because the game can change in the matter of two or three balls.’’
ALCHEMY All-Stars captain Alex Saunders said when the two teams met last year the result came down to only a couple of runs and he was confident his side could beat the Crusaders in the decider.
‘‘Unfortunately we only got to play the one game but all the boys have been playing other cricket so we’ll be fine,’’ he said.
‘‘We will target their stronger players and potential match-winners.
‘‘We think if we can restrict them that will be the difference.’’
Saunders expected to field the same squad as last week with three Hobart recruits in Tom Briscoe, Nick Grubb and Jimmy Hortle set to make the drive North again along with former state player Brendan Drew.
‘‘Cock N Bull are pretty good - Westbury are always strong in the club comp and the guys they have coming up are good players but we will try to restrict their good players as our tactic.’’
City Park radio will broadcast the final on 103.7FM from 8pm.
