And expect that feeling at his set at the Marion Bay Falls Festival.
"We'll just be there to pump up the crowd a little bit I guess," he said.
"In my mind this change in my style is huge, but in everyone else's mind it doesn't seem to be that big.
"But everyone seems to be getting into it, and I've designed it specifically for 'summer good times' and what a better time to play it than at a festival in the summer.
"Falls is going to be great."
These sounds are apparent on his latest album Gon' Boogaloo, which took about six years to be released.
It's an album that Stoneking said he looked within himself to put together.
Stoneking described that time between albums as the most "intense ever'.
After his Falls appearances, Stoneking said there was plenty of touring on his agenda, both at home and overseas.
