Google also gave us an inside look into what almost made it into the top 10 - Bogan Hunters was number 11 on the list.
While Tasmanians had the top two searches in common with the rest of Australia, there were a couple of differences.
iPhone 6 and Tasmanian election were replaced in the national list by Schapelle Corby and mobile game Flappy Bird (note: I had to Google that).
Globally, the top-10 searches were Robin Williams; World Cup; Ebola; Malaysia Airlines; ALS Ice Bucket challenge; Flappy Bird; Conchita Wurst; ISIS; Frozen; Sochi Olympics.
The lists are determined by how much a term or phrase has increased in searching compared to the previous year.
