Fourth generation farmer Geoffrey Kidd and partner Carol Beaumont said that they were excited about their latest venture.

Mr Kidd said that the property was settled about 1879 by the White Family and sold to his grand father ``Jack'' Kidd in 1917 as a soldier settlement farm.

``Jack was well known in the region for his contribution to the municipality and for his letters to the local newspapers, along with his building of homes and halls,'' he said.

``The local race track was situated on the property and provided a cultural experience for many folks over the years.

``Jack's son, my father Alan, took over the farm from him and I've been running it since about 2000.''

The renovation of the original homestead and garden became a major focus for Mr Kidd and Ms Beaumont in 2006.

``The farm has come back to life as it once was and the gates are open for others to enjoy it as it was in its hey day,'' Ms Beaumont said.

‘We’ve had a fantastic response from visitors so far and we still have more work to do developing the walking areas, garden and usable spaces, but we're getting there.

``Farm walks can be arranged and the property is available as a venue for events, functions, meetings, workshops or get togethers.''

Entry to the Waratah Angus Farm is by donation, families are welcome and the property is disability friendly.

It is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am-4pm -  Fridays and weekends are by appointment only.
