Jan Harvey, of Ross, and Marianne Baker, of Campbell Town, have banded together to bring about something special for residents of the Northern Midlands.
A lunch, to be held at Ross Town Hall, will see company and conversation shared with those who may otherwise be without from 12.30pm on Christmas Day.
Ms Harvey said she hoped the first-time event would become an annual tradition.
"We've been thinking about doing it for some time," she said.
"We realise Christmas isn't always an easy time for people. It's not always fun and happy, it can be pretty lonely.
"There's going to be a raffle next week and we're relying on donations, the lunch is free."
People attending are asked to bring a small gift, token or gesture on the day.
"Even though we're all adults it's still nice to get a present," Ms Harvey said.
A traditional spread including ham, chicken, turkey — "the whole kit and kaboodle" — will be put on for attendees.
"There's not a time limit on it, it's just for people to be happy, come along and feel comfortable," Ms Harvey said.
