Aussie Twerk partner Alex Moskov promised participants in tonight’s workshops that they would master twerking within an hour.
The dance move involves thrusting hip movements and a low squatting stance and, according to Moskov, it’s all in the lower back.
Professionally-trained dancer Kristina Moskov will lead tonight’s sessions.
‘‘The younger people just love it,’’ Moskov said of the dance move.
‘‘Every week you hear a new twerk song.
‘‘With the basic steps you can do it in the club.’’
He listed Nicki Minaj hit Anaconda as the most popular twerking song and said the dance provided a substantial workout.
He said women aged from 18 to 61 attended the couple’s Melbourne studio for lessons.
The first session of the evening will teach basic dance moves while the Hottie Heels workshop will provide more advanced skills.
‘‘It’s all about having fun,’’ Moskov said.
