Our teachers are not allowed to voice their concerns publicly, but I feel it is important that parents and all concerned citizens are made aware of the reality of the Liberal government cuts to education.
The following is just a glimpse of some of the programs that have supported and enriched our children's learning and which this school will loose as a result of these cuts.
Reduced Teacher Aide time for small group and individual intervention programs, 1.4 staffing cut, no library time for Early Childhood students, no relief when staff are sick, children will be dispersed into other classes, cuts to IT support.
No new IT equipment. Cuts to all library and art supplies.
No new sport equipment. Reduced physical education and music programs.
Cuts to all excursions, cultural performances and family events.
Cuts to Prep to Grade 2 swimming and water safety program 2015.
This is the reality and schools all over the state are having to make similar cuts.
Please support your child's future by letting the government know that education is important to you and as parents your vote is inextricably linked to the decisions this government make regarding your children's future.
