Athletes will compete in a range of sports including track and field, water polo, soccer, swimming, golf, BMX, sailing and gymnastics.
"This is a very exciting opportunity for young track and field athletes from Tasmania and indeed Australia, to participate in international competition," Little Athletics Tasmania president Rhonda O'Sign said.
"Our athletes and team personnel welcome the opportunity to participate in this world-class event."
The Launceston City Team members are Jordan Webb, Benjamin Kirby, Chayce Jones, Jordan Talbot, Bradley Murray-Skye, Conor Healey, Danieka Wagner, Amy Halaby, Arabella Phillips, Jade Longstaff, Tori Milbourne and Portia Hamilton.
The team will travel to Lake Macquarie on Saturday, with the athletics competition to be held at the Hunters Sports Centre at Glendale. O'Sign will accompany the team as head of delegation along with coach Wim Vaessen and manager Kaylene Knee.
