The Northern Championship Sheepdog Trial will be held at the venue on Saturday and Sunday from 7am.
Winkleigh's Max Freeland will supply the sheep.
Dogs and handlers of all skill sets will be included in the event with four classes of trialing on offer - encourage for beginner handlers, novice for dogs who had not won a trial, improver and open.
It's a return to familiar territory for the Exeter Sheepdog Club, which held its first trial in the paddock behind the showgrounds.
It later moved to Edinburgh Park at Gravelly Beach then returned close to its original home.
The club was formed in 1998 by members of the former Exeter Apex Club.
A canteen will be open over both days of the event.
