The second annual Savanna's Christmas Appeal is up and running, with East Coast Vet Clinic accepting food and accessory donations.
Those donations will then be given to disadvantaged families around the state, in an effort to ease the families' burden of paying for Christmas and caring for their pet over the festive period.
The appeal helps more than 200 disadvantaged Tasmanian families.
East Coast Vet Clinic owner Jeff Parsons said the appeal improved the holiday season for both animals and owners.
"It's targeted to the people who need it the most," he said.
"In the past people in need are preparing food for the people, but the dog and cat miss out. Anglicare knows the families that have pets and with this, everybody benefits."
Mr Parsons has urged residents looking to donate to do so by December 18.
Last year's event was so successful that the vet clinic was still receiving donations up until Christmas Eve, but the kind gifts were not able to be delivered to families on time.
Donations can be dropped at the East Coast Vet Clinic or the Bicheno Post Office.
