Organiser Rob Gillard said that the run honoured the memory of Liz Ellis, who was the Longford Sports Centre co-ordinator from 2001 to 2007 and started the event.
He said that this year's 200 entrants included 30 to 40 people with dogs running at 9am, 80 juniors for the 9.30am two-kilometre run and the rest in the eight-kilometre race at 10am.
But the two-kilometre children's run was not enough of a challenge for Arabella Phillips.
After winning the junior women's two-kilometre run, the 13-year-old backed up in the adult's eight-kilometre run and was the third female home.
Arabella said that she wanted to continue in distance athletics and would next weekend race in the Bruny Island ultra marathon.
Men's winner David Thomas said that he ran a comfortable first half, pacing himself in the leading bunch, before "going for it" in the second four kilometres.
David Bailey, of Hobart, stayed with Thomas for the first four kilometres and finished second, but was under no illusions about a possible race win.
"I knew I wasn't a chance — Dave's one of the top runners in the nation," he said.
Amy Lamprecht won the women's race ahead of Susan Thomas.
Next Sunday will see Sally's Run held in conjunction with Sally's Ride. The event starts from Launceston's Royal Park at 11am and follows the trail along the Tamar to the Tailrace before returning along the same route for a five-kilometre run.
