A 30-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious but stable condition after a diving incident at about 12 pm today.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of Mistaken Cape near Maria Island. The male was given CPR after he surfaced with assistance from his dive buddy, and taken by boat to Triabunna before being airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The man was at approximately 40 metres when the incident occurred.
EARLIER: THE Tasmania Police Search and Rescue helicopter has been called to a medical emergency.
The crew was called to Triabunna to medivac a patient suffering from a medical condition about midday today.
