Detective Acting Sergeant Robert Woodrow, of Devonport CIB, said that several incidents have occurred recently where the counterfeit notes have been used during transactions with a number of businesses.

He said the notes in question were of a poor quality and on close inspection, are obviously fake. 

All the notes carry the same serial number - GK05371091.

Detective Acting Sergeant Woodrow said that anyone with information regarding the manufacture or distribution of these notes is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Devonport CIB on 6478 4041.
