Members of the Western Drug Investigation Services searched a building at Parklands, Burnie, about 4.30pm yesterday on a search warrant.

When the property was suspected of housing a clandestine lab, the property's occupants and two neighbouring residences were evacuated as a safety precaution.

Police found and seized a number of exhibits that they will allege were involved in manufacturing illicit drugs.

A 32-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were jointly charged with manufacturing a controlled drug, and other minor drug and firearms related offences.

Two people were assisting police with inquiries.
